Association for Citizenship Teaching launched an online course called Media Matters: Empowering Teachers in Media and Information Literacy designed to give teachers knowledge and practical strategies for teaching media literacy.

Our vision is for all young people to be active, informed citizens, equipped through effective Citizenship Education with the knowledge, skills and experience to participate in and shape a strong and vibrant democracy based on equality, fairness and justice. ACT is a membership organisation mainly maid up of teachers in primary and secondary schools. It is a registered charity (no. 1187335) and all profits from subscriptions and trading are re-invested into Citizenship education. ACT was founded in 2002 when Citizenship became statutory in schools in England.
