Future Frontier Capital and the Berkeley Gateway Accelerator are an integrated platform—a venture fund paired with a deep tech accelerator—purpose-built to commercialize breakthrough technology into venture-scale companies. The BGA team has spent decades working inside deep tech commercialization programs, evaluating technologies, building business cases, and investing capital to help engineers and scientists make the decision to become founders. That work informs everything about how BGA is designed. Founders enter a 5-month residency in downtown Berkeley where interdisciplinary UC Berkeley fellows (MBA, Law, Engineering) work alongside them to harden IP strategy, define engineering milestones, stress-test go-to-market paths, and identify lighthouse customers. Downstream investors get visibility into technology readiness, capital stack strategy, and commercial execution. Public Infrastructure for Deep Tech BGA operates out of a 10,000 square feet innovation hub featuring a hardware lab, media lab, and public events space.
