Conpanio is working on a pilot project at an Almacasa location to prepare for care for people with dementia.

With Conpanio, we make social activities for the 60+ generation as easy as ordering food. On demand. People over 60 are the fastest-growing demographic globally. In Switzerland alone, the number of people aged 65+ will increase by more than one third by 2035. We believe the core challenge is not loneliness, but suddenly having more time available. This is exactly where Conpanio comes in: we turn ordinary days into meaningful experiences. We do this through our AI-powered infrastructure. Conpanions, primarily students and PhD candidates with domain expertise, complete an interview with our founder’s live AI avatar that evaluates knowledge, empathy, communication skills, and motivation. Seniors, their relatives, or staff at senior living residences can simply call or WhatsApp our AI concierge to request activities or get inspired. The system then suggests suitable Conpanions and allows booking requests to be sent instantly. Meetings always take place in public spaces and are purely social in nature. Both sides are ID-verified. Access is free for Conpanions. Seniors subscribe to receive recommendations for suitable Conpanions for their desired activities, or gain access through their retirement residence or care facility. Family members can also book activities for their parents or grandparents via WhatsApp - making this a perfect gift idea. Example activities include: Walks with physics PhD students, coffee with political scientists, opera visits with art academy students, lake cruises with future biomedical doctors, lunch with ETH optomechanics students, or concerts with conservatory pianists, and many more. More than 300 Conpanions have already registered.
