Back from three days at IBF Misano, and one operational topic kept coming up: eBike warranties. It rhymes with my aviation mechanic years, where the rule was simple: if…

About CrankPal
Ask a bike shop how long a chain lasts and you'll get a shrug: "it depends." True — and useless. You can't plan around a shrug. We came from aviation, where nothing is left to feel: a part comes off when the data says so, not a kilometre early, not a kilometre late. CrankPal gives the bicycle that same discipline. FOR RIDERS Our app estimates the remaining life of every component on your bike — chain, cassette, pads, rotors, tyres, cables, bearings — and tells you when each is due, before it fails. Book your workshop from the app, approve the quote with a tap, follow the repair from your lock screen. FOR WORKSHOPS A complete platform, born at the workbench, not behind a desk: bookings, customer and bike records, quotes, work orders, inventory, counter sales, payments and invoicing under each country's rules. The Free plan is genuinely free — 100 work orders a month and 2,000 customers, no credit card. A universal parts catalogue lets a mechanic search their own shelves and the wider catalogue in one field, see which distributors carry a part, and turn what's been promised to a customer into an order to the supplier without retyping anything. At the centre sits the digital bike passport: a full census of frame and components, a certified service history and ownership transfer — value that stays with the bicycle for life. HOW IT KNOWS (PATENT PENDING) Our model starts from the physics of wear — the reference life of each component, bike type, elevation, riding intensity, wet rides, even the asymmetry between front and rear pads — and runs a survival model on two clocks at once: kilometres ridden and time elapsed, because a cable ages while the bike sits in the garage. Data comes from GPS, phone sensors, Strava and Garmin, plus the workshops' service records. Every intervention a mechanic records sharpens the next prediction. Founded by bike mechanics — and cyclists. CrankPal is based in Milan, available in 59 markets and 40 languages.
