Deep-Ocean Stewardship Initiative 's Comms Manager Elin Thomas delivered a deep-sea session 'Advancing Deep-Sea Knowledge for Sustainable Governance' at the ASMA 2026 Conference in Canberra alongside co-chair Rachel Downey and Aline Jaeckel.

DOSI seeks to advise on ecosystem-based management of resource use in the deep ocean, and devise strategies to maintain the integrity of deep-ocean ecosystems within and beyond national jurisdiction. This is achieved through the efforts of ten transdisciplinary working groups, each focussed on a specific topic, working across borders to safeguard the marine environment for current and future generations.
