About ESO Ventures
At the current rate, it will take over 400 years for Black and Latino families to reach wealth parity with white families in the United States. Entrepreneurship is one of the most direct paths to closing that gap. But capital, the kind that actually moves a business forward, has consistently flowed away from the founders who need it most. Not because those founders are unready. Because the systems measuring readiness were built around someone else. ESO exists to change what gets built, not just who gets served. Since 2020, we have supported 678 Black, Latino, and underinvested entrepreneurs across California. We have deployed over $8M in flexible capital, and 72% of that capital went to founders who had never accessed outside funding before. Funding access has grown from 23% to 39% over three years, even as we raised our standards. These are not simply metrics. They are evidence that infrastructure works when it is designed with intention. We are not a program. We are not a pipeline. Traditional systems stop at the in-between stage. ESO starts there. We are a for-profit company, in the business of building businesses.
