External Reference Architects led by Dr. Carmelo Zappulla won the Regional Winner, Europe, in the Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design category at the SBID 2026 Society of British & International Interior Design competition for Onada Terrace Suites at W Barcelona.

External Reference Studio is a Barcelona-based architecture and design firm that aims at breaking the boundaries between architecture, visual arts and digital tools for generating unique spatial experiences. Our studio is an international hub of young designers led by experienced professionals with a specialization in retail and hospitality. We provide our clients with a clear insight of the design process, allowing them to participate in the shaping of their ideal spaces.
