Greenburgh Central School District is a public school district located in Hartsdale, NY, just 18 miles north of New York City. It has approximately 1,600 students in Pre-K–12 with a student-teacher ratio of 12-to-1. The district was created in 1968 from a merger of the Greenburgh 8 School District and the Hartsdale School District. The main campus is built on the former Felix Warburg family estate called "Woodlands.” Serving a diverse ethnic, religious, racial, and socioeconomic population, Greenburgh CSD draws students from Hartsdale, a portion of White Plains, and a small area of Elmsford. Our curriculum in grades K–12 is designed using the International Baccalaureate framework. Students in grades Pre-K–12 can study Mandarin as a world language. In grades 4–12, Spanish is also offered as a world language. The district's pride is represented in the number of staff who return to GCSD after graduation to work in various capacities. The district workforce comprises over 260 certified staff and over 120 non-certified staff. We are committed to educating our students in an environment where they will develop a lifelong love of learning and successfully engage in a rapidly changing, interconnected global community.
