About Human Provenance in Film

Human Provenance in Film is a free, open standard for AI disclosure in film and television. It exists to build the transparency infrastructure that lets audiences know how the content they watch was made. The standard organises AI use into three tiers: No AI, Assistive AI, and Generative AI. The organising principle is: does AI enhance human creative work, or does it replace human creative roles? Most audiences want this information. Without a disclosure standard, that preference has no way to reach the market. Human Provenance in Film is the mechanism to correct that. Disclosure is implemented through chain of title documentation. No new platform infrastructure is required to adopt it. The taxonomy is in draft and is currently open for industry consultation. humanprovenance.film
