About KNUD E. HANSEN
The maritime industry is under growing pressure to reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and prepare for a future driven by alternative fuels. Shipowners and operators need vessels that meet today’s operational requirements while remaining adaptable to tomorrow’s technologies and regulations. At KNUD E. HANSEN, we turn these challenges into innovative, customized ship design and data-driven naval architecture solutions. We support our clients from initial concept and tender stages through basic design and construction stage, working closely with Shipowners and shipyards to ensure every design is practical, efficient, and ready for the future. Our expertise covers RoPax and cruise vessels, PCTC, RORO, container ships, CO₂ tankers, Chemical tankers, X-gas tankers, CSOV, research ships, Polar vessels, and wind turbine installation vessels. Since 1937, more than 850 vessels have been built and over 350 conversions completed to our designs. We have also developed 450+ hull lines and carried out thousands of surveys, feasibility studies, and design projects worldwide. We have successfully designed vessels powered by LNG, Methanol, Hydrogen, and Ammonia and are designing next generation vessels with MCF-Reactor. Each design combines our naval architecture heritage with forward-looking thinking to deliver practical, efficient, and sustainable vessels. We work closely with clients and shipyards to translate complex requirements into future-ready designs that keep the maritime industry moving safely and responsibly. KNUD E. HANSEN aims to be the specialist’s choice for owners and yards that need tailored naval architecture, independent advisory, and conversion expertise delivered with decades of applied know-how.
