About Kool Kat Science
For the last five years, Dave and Paula Schoeff have been exploring fresh approaches to apply their 20 years of STEM and education expertise within their local community. Starting in 2018, they initiated STEM clubs that provided opportunities for young people and their families to engage in problem-based STEM projects. They established Kool Kat Science as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2023 in order to expand the reach of their unique multi-generational approach to STEM education. Kool Kat Science exists to provide project-based STEM and STEAM experiences for elementary aged children in Northwest Ohio. These experiences are multi-session projects in STEM engineering, coding, and robotics. Kool Kat Science projects usually require 8-12 contact hours, so they don’t fit in a traditional classroom. Instead, they are better suited to non-traditional settings such as home school groups, family groups, and summer day camps. The Kool Kat team provides all materials, tools, and teaching expertise. Families or organizations provide a venue and a cohort of eager learners who will commit to attend the sessions.
