Lukango Tree Conservancy Limited (LuTreeCo) is a privately owned African social enterprise that is focused on conservation of trees and shrubs that are native to Tropical Africa, with emphasis on threatened species. We have a network of seed collectors, a seedbank (including freezers) and are building a species-rich resilient forest of future mother trees. Our dedicated non-retail nursery is charged with growing all native germ-plasm that is new to us and developing propagation protocols as needed. Our nursery also provides seedlings for reforestation projects that focus on establishing biodiverse forests. LuTreeCo’s innovation arm develops new businesses and products that not only emerge from, but sustain and enhance our conservation goals.
