About LurexBio
Many immunotherapies act downstream of tumor recognition and immune engagement. In some immune-cold tumors, however, limited or ineffective immune recognition may be an important upstream barrier, leaving less for downstream therapies to build on. Other barriers, including immune cell trafficking, exclusion, suppression, and impaired effector function, may also contribute and remain biologically distinct. LurexBio is developing a non-genetic, non-viral recognition engineering platform designed to establish an actionable immune recognition signal at the tumor surface. Our hypothesis is that engineering this recognition layer may provide a new way to address one important component of tumor immune evasion. We are initially focused on microsatellite stable colorectal cancer (MSS CRC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), two areas of significant unmet need where many patients receive limited benefit from current immunotherapies. LurexBio is an early-stage biotechnology company. Our platform is grounded in established, published biology, and we are advancing a novel recognition engineering approach through a disciplined R&D program. Our focus is clear: engineer recognition at the tumor surface and rigorously evaluate whether that approach can address an important upstream barrier in immune cold cancer biology.
