About Mentor Europe
What we do at Mentor - Mentor works on business-critical programs that are unusually difficult to execute, highly visible, or already showing signs of strain. We are brought in to help set them up properly, test whether they are genuinely deliverable, or, more often than we would like, recover them when they are not. Our business is built around senior practitioners with substantial experience of major program delivery and recovery. We do not rely on large junior teams or put people into business-critical situations to learn on the job. The experience of the people doing the work is central to our model. Our work goes beyond the normal boundaries of program management. We look at whether the organisation around the program is actually capable of delivering it: whether priorities are aligned, dependencies are understood, suppliers are working as one system, decisions are being made quickly enough, and the right people are in the right roles. We work as practitioners, not passive advisers. That means getting inside the program, understanding where it will hold and where it will break, and then helping management do something about it. These are programs where the consequences of getting it wrong are usually far greater than the cost of putting the right people on the job.
