About Murph Capital
We built Murph Capital to break the old boys’ club. For too long, the VC and LP world has been driven by closed legacy networks and inherited access where who you knew mattered more than how you thought, and where you came from mattered more than what you built. That world is changing. As companies stay private longer and access to VC becomes more democratized, a new generation of fund managers is emerging: operators, engineers, researchers, journalists, and builders. At the same time, a new generation of LPs is forming. Digital-native, independent, and deeply curious, they read Substack, follow operators, think in public, and no longer rely on traditional gatekeepers to decide where capital should flow. As data and AI increasingly support sourcing and manager selection, these processes become more standardized and predictable. Everyone will see the same dashboards. Everyone will run similar models. The real advantage will be earning the first draft pick every year – and backing it with trust, reputation, and hands-on support that managers actually value. That means being present before fundraising, helpful before DPI, and trusted enough to be referred to the next generation of great GPs. That’s why we build Murph. Media creates shared language and credibility. Community compounds trust. Open data provides transparency. Design reflects a high standard of quality. And thoughtful, well-crafted gatherings create emotional bonds that no Slack channel ever will. In an industry obsessed with optics, we choose substance. In a world of extreme commercialization, we choose openness. In a culture of performative status, we choose integrity. And this is a decades-long game. Welcome to the new club.
