New Era Cleantech is building India’s first coal gasification complex, a $5 billion, 1,600+ acre integrated gasification and carbon capture platform in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, developed over ten years as part of the country’s National Mission on Coal Gasification, Hydrogen, and CCUS. The facility will convert 5 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) of coal into high-value chemicals, including Urea, hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, di-methyl ether (DME), ammonium nitrate & SAF, with a strong emphasis on carbon capture, driving a circular economy at industrial scale. New Era Cleantech’s vision is to advance India’s energy transition with cost-effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability at its core, playing a crucial role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
