Novasign builds hybrid modeling software for bioprocess development and manufacturing. Our platform, Novasign Studio, combines mechanistic understanding with data-driven models so that process engineers and data scientists can plan, simulate and optimise processes in one shared environment — from the first experiments through to full-scale production. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from BOKU University Vienna, Novasign released its first software version in 2020 and has since worked with companies across biopharma, industrial biotechnology, cell and gene therapy and cultivated food. In 2025, Repligen became a partner and investor. Teams using Novasign Studio have reduced wet-lab experiments by up to 70% compared with conventional DoE approaches. Our workflows cover upstream, filtration, UF/DF/SPTFF, chromatography, and have been applied to antibodies and ADCs, enzymes and proteins, viral vectors and AAVs, mRNA, cells,polymers and fine chemicals. Novasign Studio runs in the cloud or fully on-premise, with audit trails and traceability built for GxP environments.
