Overseas Famous is a career advising firm designed to empower and guide overseas athletes on their athletic journey by providing resources and mentorships to help overseas athletes make the most of their personal brand, while also setting them up for post-career success. Most overseas athletes, after making a name for themselves domestically, head overseas and disappear much like the gif of Homer Simpson disappearing into the bushes. These athletes are forgotten by the country they call home. This makes branding and building future employment connections difficult. Most of the athlete’s time is spent abroad, far away from opportunities presented to athletes competing locally. When the final whistle blows, these athletes are left to their own devices to start their second act. An athlete’s career is just a small blip in their overall life. To have something so defining, gone so quickly is difficult mentally. These athletes put so much effort into becoming elite, and now they must reset and join a world that has been churning while they have been gone. For overseas athletes who have to constantly adapt, having a trusted, authentic peer to turn to in these difficult times is key. Much like a veteran on the team who teaches the ins and outs of each specific country, Overseas Famous is that veteran presence. Someone who is relatable and has been in the same situation and can provide the correct assistance based on an athlete's needs. Overseas Famous consists of a variety of consultants and experts. A majority played a sport either collegiately or professionally overseas. We bring in experts that understand the athlete and are truly able to help the athlete.
