About Qnetic

Qnetic is a start-up on a mission to enable clean, sustainable energy on Earth. Our low-cost, grid-scale energy storage technology enables the global transition to wind and solar, and the death of fossil fuels. Qnetic is a breakthrough flywheel energy storage system (FESS) tailored to daily energy shifting to support solar and wind. Daily energy shifting means storing solar power from the daytime and using it at night, or storing unused wind power from the night and using it during the day. This is how our future energy grid will work. Qnetic is capital cost-competitive with Li-ion batteries but what really matters is Levelled Cost of Storage (LCOS). This single figure captures capital cost, operation and maintenance costs, losses, degradation, round-trip efficiency across the entire lifetime of the facility. Measured like this, Qnetic is half the cost of Li-ion. Qnetic is under design and development and will reach mass-production in 2025. Qnetic is backed by SOSV.
