REMSA Health experienced busy operations in August.

Since 1986, REMSA Health has delivered nationally recognized emergency medical services to Washoe County, Nevada. Today, as the largest employer of EMS personnel in Northern Nevada, our mission extends far beyond ground ambulance. As a private, nonprofit, fully integrated pre-hospital healthcare organization, REMSA Health provides innovative healthcare services outside the hospital setting, funded entirely by user fees with no local tax subsidy. Our ground operations respond to approximately 90,000 requests for service annually across a fleet of 45 ambulances, providing residents and visitors with 9-1-1 response and transport, interfacility transport, disaster preparedness, search and rescue, tactical medical support and public education, under a performance-based franchise agreement with the Washoe County Health District. Our Special Events team covers more than 700 events per year, from small gatherings to weeklong celebrations. Care Flight, a service of REMSA Health, has delivered critical care air transport across the western United States since 1981. As the oldest air medical program west of the Rockies, Care Flight operates rotor-wing bases in Gardnerville and Fallon, Nevada, and Truckee and Beckwourth, California, along with a fixed-wing base at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, extending advanced emergency care across northwestern Nevada, northeastern California, and an 11-state western region. Care Flight transports an average of 1,500 air medical patients per year. REMSA Health holds multiple national accreditations: our Regional Emergency Communications Center is an IAED Accredited Center of Excellence (the first in Nevada), Care Flight holds CAMTS accreditation for air medical transport, and our paramedic education program is CAAHEP accredited, with first-time National Registry pass rates more than 20% above the national average.
