Silverstream Technologies celebrated one year of in-service testing of engine-supported air lubrication, which is a new configuration ready to deliver real fuel and emissions savings at scale.

Silverstream Technologies is the market leader in hull air lubrication technology for the global shipping sector. Our proven, fuel-agnostic clean technology, the Silverstream® System, can be fitted to new and existing vessels to improve efficiency, energy consumption and reduce harmful emissions. We believe that air lubrication will become a standard design feature on all newbuild vessels entering the global fleet, as well as being considered a must-have solution to improve the efficiency of existing vessels. The Silverstream® System generates a uniform carpet of microbubbles that reduces frictional resistance between the hull and the water, thus significantly reducing the propulsion energy required to move ships. Our technology unlocks a proven 5-10% net fuel and emissions saving, depending on vessel type. The Silverstream® System is suitable for a wide range of vessel types and our technology is adopted by market leaders including MSC, Shell, Carnival, Grimaldi, Maersk, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Vale.
