West African Conservation Network (WACN) is a non-profit conservation organisation currently working in partnership with government authorities, communities, and conservation partners to support the protection and restoration of priority wildlife landscapes in Nigeria. WACN operates under formal memoranda of understanding with the Nigeria National Park Service and Bauchi State Government, and is actively engaged in Kainji Lake National Park and Sumu Wildlife Park. Our work focuses on early-stage operational support, monitoring and data coordination, infrastructure preparation, community engagement, and the planning of indigenous wildlife restoration initiatives. WACN’s approach is collaborative and long-term, supporting public authorities in strengthening park management and conservation outcomes. Through transparent partnerships and sustained support, WACN aims to contribute to resilient protected areas that benefit biodiversity and surrounding rural communities.
