British Steel welcomed new graduates and apprentices to the Scunthorpe site.

In April 2025, the UK Government took control of British Steel to safeguard the continued operation of our blast furnaces. This intervention secured more than 4,000 jobs and maintained the UK’s sovereign capability to produce primary steel, made directly from raw materials rather than recycled scrap.
